Veterans Day is a good time for an update on the
hubbub about the disabled vet vendors in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. After an
anti-vendor press conference from Council Member
Dan Garodnick, and a ticket blitz, SVP went on the Brian Lehrer Show with Vietnam Vet Leo Morris to
plead the case. Now, an ECB judge has determined that those vets are legal – since the area is a “plaza,” not a “sidewalk” their carts do not have to be at the curb (where they couldn’t set up legally because they would be in a taxi stand!) Read the decision
here. Happy Veterans Day.
