Contesting the Streets Conference, May 14-15th, 2010

This conference, entitled Contesting the Streets: Street Vending, Open-Air Markets and Public Space, was co-sponsored by UCL A and SVP.  For the first time ever, academics from across the country met with vendor groups from NYC, Chicago and LA. Representing SVP were board members Soledad Pabon (merchandise vendor), Lei Bai (art vendor), Donald Hart (veteran) and Mohammed Baten (food vendor)
